This last weekend I was doing some searching around AOL. I was just being generally interested in internet history especially the 90’s early 2000’s which were very formative for me. When I came across a few things that I didn’t expect at all. First of all AOL dialup is still very definitely a thing. Second AOL makes a browser. What is ever more interesting to me about this browser that AOL makes is that they actually charge a monthly fee to use it. Needless to say I was blown away by all this. So coming soon to this blog will be a deep dive into the strangeness that is AOL Desktop GOLD a browser you pay a monthly subscription for. My goodness is it weird.
